Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Is CBT Right for Me?

CBT allows you to improve your quality of life through linking thoughts, behaviours and feelings. If you are looking to engage in an empirically supported therapy to help examine and challenge your through structured homework then CBT could be an excellent fit for you!

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that links thinking, feeling, and behaviour. CBT is an effective treatment for those who may be suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship problems and more. You may have heard of CBT before as it is one of the most researched therapies with successful outcomes.

What Does CBT Therapy Look Like?

In your counselling session you will be encouraged to identify goals that you would like to achieve. You will then look at collecting data, challenging old thought patterns and experiment with new behaviours. CBT counselling is typically heavily structured and work is done through formal worksheets. Practicing new behaviours/ homework takes place both during therapy and outside of the counselling session.
