About Me: Kate Quinn

Kate Quinn

My passion comes from the privilege of having worked with people across the lifespan. I have witnessed individuals heal and make lasting healthy changes in their lives – from birthing people and their babies to school aged children and adults. If you choose to work with me, you will find I bring warmth and depth to your exploration of whatever barriers you may be facing in your life.

I have a decade of experience working in the field of mental health in Toronto. My workplaces have included various children’s mental health organizations (Strides Toronto, Child Development Institute, Boost Child and Youth Advocacy Centre), family violence shelters, and community service organizations (WoodGreen Community Services).

I provide an integrative approach that is guided by evidence-based practice. This practice incorporates components of narrative therapy, CBT, and mindfulness based self-compassion. My work is informed by extensive working knowledge of attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology. I will always work from an anti-oppressive and strengths based perspective with a firm belief that you already have much of what you need to heal and lead a meaningful life.

I believe in working collaboratively and compassionately with the people that come to see me. I understand my job to be creating a therapeutic space where you feel comfortable, emotionally safe, and respected.

Knowing that each person’s experience is unique I work from a range of therapeutic modalities. Through our work together we will identify resources, skills, and patterns in your life that are effective as well as areas where you may want to transform.
